it’s cold outside, there’s no kind of atmosphere

At this point in my life, I’ve pretty much resigned myself to being cold all the time. Not to say that I am unable to raise my body temperature, or haven’t ever experienced being warm (even uncomfortably so), but my default status is usually “slightly chilled”. I don’t go anywhere without at least a sweater – even in 120 degree Phoenix summers. If a building’s occupants see fit to keep the AC running at 62 degrees year round, what’s the point?

Maybe it’s not such a bad thing. Maybe it’s a sign of latent superpowers. Maybe when the apocalypse comes it will just be the girls with poor circulation left to tough out a nuclear winter with the roaches. Or… against the roaches? We might have to band together to fight a mutated, hostile insect population – so let’s be prepared, ladies. I’ve got 25+ years of SciFi experience, though, so don’t worry.

1st Priority: Build a spaceship out of a nuclear missile & achieve record speeds in the solar system, inadvertently attracting the attention of people from another planet. Nice, organized people with good hair and interstellar diplomatic abilities. (Will they be able to help with the Cockroach Wars, though? Maybe we should try for a noble warrior people instead, who will probably try to eat the roaches just as soon kill them in battle. Either way, problem solved.)

(Oh, who am I kidding? We’ll be saved at the last minute [again] by a Time Lord before we even get to the Apocalypse scenario [again] anyway, so this whole discussion is pretty pointless.

…What was my original point? Where’s my scarf?)
